Mirror vs Hairline Finish: Picking the Right Look
Every stainless pipe leaves the mill with a finish, and in Pakistan two dominate: mirror and hairline.
Mirror finish is polished to a reflective shine. It looks premium, brightens spaces, and photographs beautifully — which is why it dominates home railings and gates. Its weakness: fingerprints and fine scratches show more, so it needs an occasional wipe to stay flawless.
Hairline finish has fine brushed lines running along the pipe. It reads modern and architectural, hides fingerprints and light scratches, and is the default choice for commercial spaces, lifts, kitchens and high-touch areas.
Durability is identical — finish is surface treatment, not grade. A hairline 304 and mirror 304 resist rust equally.
Our advice: homes and decorative railings — mirror. Offices, shops, kitchens and anywhere hands touch steel all day — hairline. Mixing both (hairline posts with mirror cross pipes) is a trend we are seeing in modern designs.
